Beech House bed and breakfast is an interesting grade 2 listed property located in the charming village of Greystoke. Until recently Beech House formed part of Lattendales Country House.
The original house dates from the late 16th early 17th C with additions from Georgian and Victorian times. It was thought to have been by the family of Canon John Dowson who came to Greystoke following Henry VIII dissolution of Shap Abbay in 1540 and belonged to John Dowson in 1677. Now run as a friendly and informal bed and breakfast and small holding.
Additional Information: Greystoke is situated about 5 miles west of the market town of Penrith, which has train station on the West Cost Mainline and also adjoins junction 40 of the M6. The village is conveniently located for access to the north Lake District. Greystoke is centred around a village green and crossroads with a shop, village pub, swimming pool, historic church, cycle café and entrance to the grounds of Greystoke Castle. Beech House is located on the Barrier Road about 200 yards from the centre of the village on the left hand side. Cyclists and walkers welcome.
