The Music

Headlining Saturday night, and fresh from Kendal Calling, it’s Hardwicke Circus! Headlining on Friday we have No Good Reason. And supporting both these acts will be John Anderson Acoustic

Hardwicke Circus return after debuting at the Beer Festival back in 2017, and after storming session at the Boot and Shoe last year.

Saturday Night Headliners

Hardwicke Circus

Hardwicke Circus need no introduction! Returning to play the Greystoke Beer Festival for a second time, having debuted in 2017, we are delighted to welcome them back as Saturday Night headliners. Some* of you may also recall they played a storming set at the Boot and Shoe last summer.

Hardwicke Circus are fast building a reputation as the most exciting band to emerge from the UK in recent years. With over 1000 gigs under their belt – including a recommendation from Sir Paul McCartney to play at Glastonbury, a UK Prison tour and a support slot with Bob Dylan in Hyde Park, Hardwicke Circus, as Paul Sexton (Sunday Times) writes, “are not only turning heads with the confident glide in their stride, they’re literally bulletproof”.

Following their studio debut The Borderland and live prison album At Her Majesty’s Pleasure, Fly The Flag had it’s UK Release on 29 July on their own label Alternative Facts Records and is Hardwicke Circus at their most urgent, delivering 12 break-neck recordings like their lives depend on it.

*We think almost the entire village turned out to hear them play!

Friday Night Headliners

No Good Reason

Winners of the 2023 Battle of the Bands in Workington, No Good Reason are a band 30 years in the making. Meeting at school and sixth form in the 90s, Dick, Gaz and Boney tried (and failed) to create a band during their A Levels. As the restrictions of Covid lifted, they decided to have another go, eventually finding two like-minded Guitarists in Kev and Ronny.

If you like classic rock, then this will be for you, covering all kinds of bands from the genre, and from the seventies right up to the noughties, there’s something for everyone.

Hailing from Workington, the lads have quickly progressed to create quite a buzz and a following, recently winning the inaugural “Battle Of The Bands” at the Derwent Park Festival, Workington on the Whit Bank-Holiday Sunday.

As they embark on their first “tour” they’ll be travelling some distance, taking in the likes of Lockerbie, Bowness and Kendal and many more local venues (like Greystoke 😊).

Their ever evolving setlist covers bands like UFO, Black Sabbath and everyone’s favourites AC/DC as well as a few surprise covers that have been given the No Good Reason seasoning.

They are sure to create a storm on Friday night and we are thrilled to have them play. So get your tickets now! And GET READY TO ROCK!

Meet your Friday and Saturday Night Support Act!

John Anderson Acoustic

John Anderson Acoustic is a singer and acoustic guitarist from Sunderland with a powerful voice and engaging stage presence. He’ll be getting the Greystoke crowd dancing with the early set on both Friday and Saturday evenings!

John’s repertoire is filled with original takes on classic cover versions which combine everything from mellow and soulful ballads to stand-up and sing-a-long anthems. Everyone will find something that makes their foot tap or soul sing with John’s range of eclectic covers.

An experienced performer who regularly plays gigs across the North East and here in Cumbria, John’s crowd-pleasing sets feature songs by acts as diverse as The Beautiful South, The Eagles, Erasure, Dolly Parton, Take That, Queen, Del Amitri, Adele and Men at Work. Audiences can be sure of an evening filled with a range of rock and pop standards from across the decades, 80’s classics and even a TV theme tune or two for good measure.

With a huge range of songs to choose from, no two nights are ever the same meaning John’s performances are not to be missed!
